This is one for the adrenaline junkies! Our Multi Activity Week packs in all the action we can and sets the bar on Activity Provider standards. Bring your A-game: this is a week of physical and mental intensity but highly rewarding work that leaves you wanting more. The course takes place on the periphery of the countryside 11 miles NW of the City of Sheffield.
The venue for the course is confirmed at least a week before the course. This is as we might need to have more than one venue depending on bookings and uptake on the course. Upon a booking being made you will then be sent out relevant paperwork and information.
Three main themes: MOUNTAIN, WATER and CHALLENGE
MOUNTAIN: Visit some of the best rock faces in the country, the world-famous Sheffield boulder scene – we take you to local climbing hot-spots for boulder action, weaselling and abseiling. Meanwhile our experienced leaders inspire you with their intimate knowledge of the outdoors, teaching you about the environment, local geology and natural flora and fauna.
WATER: Experience kayaking and raft building on a local river, together with some useful bushcraft techniques allowing you to make opens fires and cook a hot meal, which perfectly ties together with these wet and wild activities. The rigorous knowledge of outdoor safety taught along the way is vital for any keen adventurer.
CHALLENGE: Do you dare to cross the tyrolean traverse? A cable slung from rock face to pillar, bringing out the best of your tenacity, confidence and determination. Packed with activity, we also offer an immersive scramble through a remote wooded Peak District gorge, combining your skills with both water and rock. Come prepared to work hard and reap the rewards: beating the conditions and your self-expectations.
If you own any kit which suits this active theme do bring it along, especially if it enables you to enjoy activities better, such as your own wet-suits, climbing harness, boots or helmets. Each of our residentials feature a friendly arrivals, introductions and team building session to help you settle in and get to know the group. At the end of the week, one-to-one evaluations, reflections and a summary session allow you to see everything you’ve gained and plan your next adventures. Each evening you have time to relax and socialise with the other participants. The activities are great, the company wonderful and the food moorish and wholesome.

In addition to meeting the requirements of the DofE Gold Award, our residentials can also qualify you for a John Muir Award by giving you the chance to connect with, enjoy and care for wild places. With plenty of wilderness to discover in our immediate vicinity, this award involves spending some time exploring a natural area, contributing to its conservation and sharing your experience through a medium of your choice. This will require some light group work ongoing throughout the week, involving conservation such as community and venue maintenance, a litter pick or some other action which gives back to the local area.
Cram packed with Adventures: Climbing, Abseiling, Tyrolean traverses, Kayaking, Raft Building, Rope-Tensioned River Crossings, Zip Lines and a Gorge Scramble, this is not one to miss!
The course costs £350.00 and includes food, accommodation, leader support, guidance, activity equipment, insurances, transport once on the course, residential activity & developmental booklet, assessor and course report.
