Form an Open Expedition Group with the exciting chance to join enthusiastic hikers from across the UK and complete Silver together. This would make a brilliant trip away for any outdoor enthusiast at a bargain price and is the perfect chance to see part of the world you’ve never visited before. OPEN Expeditions are open to any individuals looking to complete the Expedition section of their DofE Award after doing their relevant training. Our highly experienced leaders offer second-to-none tips and advice on all topics including map reading, bearings, camp etiquette and safety procedures, giving you all the skills you need to complete the award.
Day 1: Arrive at 10am in Bolsterstone and get to know the group: complete route planning, briefings and introductions. Then embark on your expedition to your first overnight camp.
Day 2: Journey across the hills and moors, gathering evidence for your DofE Aim along the way. You will be Assessed by our friendly team to verify you show all the DofE Principles required during the Walking Expedition. Stay at small campsites spread along the Peak Park borders, spending each night under the clear starry skies and close to nature.
Day 3: Finish Expedition by walking back in to Bolsterstone. Celebrate your success then travel back home from around 2-3pm.
BOLD Adventures can provide tents, cookers and other kit as necessary.
The Bolsterstone area is perfectly suited for DofE expeditions and provides beautiful, wild scenery to explore. The expedition area is bounded by arterial roads which make ideal safety catchment features for groups to navigate towards in case of emergency and allow rapid access to leaders.
This expedition has the potential to be a hugely rewarding and unforgettable experience. The countryside is magnificent and spectacular, taking in golden sands, crashing waves and historic coastline.
Don’t be disappointed, book as soon as possible to ensure you achieve your aim and meet your goals.
Participants are expected to have their own Expedition equipment, however if they do not have a tent, rucksack or stove we can assist in this but there will be a small hire charge of £5 per item per day. We ask for this as it is to offset wear and tear and any cleaning charges necessary, as well as the cost when the item has to be one day replaced.

Note: Open Expeditions are subject to achieving minimum group sizes before the proposed start date. In the unlikely event that we cannot go ahead we endeavour to find you an alternative option. Don’t keep yourself guessing – get in touch and ask! If we have not met the minimum numbers within 2 weeks of the expedition you will be informed and refunded.
